Rederivation Services

Harlan Laboratories has many years of experience in the rederivation of mice and rats

When our rederivation service is utilized you can expect: 

• Elimination of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms
• Elimination of distribution restrictions to collaborating investigators
• Elimination of variables that affect research results.
• Offspring delivered to the customer or maintained by Harlan Laboratories for colony expansion.
• Harlan Laboratory’s rederivation service allows animals to be exchanged between laboratories and breeders with the confidence that known microbial adventitious agents will not be inadvertently introduced.

Services offered:

Methodology:

• Meeting with Institute to understand needs.
• Models with Health monitoring report sent to Harlan Laboratories (according to table above)
• Operation carried out.
• Health check carried out after one month (in isolator)
• If pass health check pups sent back to Institution
• The whole process takes up to 3 months.
