- Disease Susceptibility: Exhibits a high incidence of Reticulum Cell Sarcomas resembling Hodgkin’s Disease
- Reproductive Performance: Average litter size of 6 offspring
- Behavioral Trait: Males can display aggression among cagemates
- Lineage and Origin: Acquired from The Jackson Laboratories in Bar Harbor, Maine, the strain was subsequently transferred to the National Institutes of Health in Frederick, Maryland, in 1983. In 1987, it was further relocated to Harlan, which later evolved into Envigo in 2015. In 2023, Harlan Laboratories regained independent status.
